It seems the kids have only just gone back to school and the February half-term is already upon us. As always there are plenty of things to do with youngsters in and around London, such as museums, parks and zoos – take your pick! Most are running special half-term activities designed to amuse the kids. MTM has selected a few highlights that will hopefully tempt you and the kids off the sofa next week and out of the house… Here are the top things to do this February Half-Term…
Imagine Children’s Festival
The Southbank Centre will be hosting several fun-packed events which are geared around kids’ literature and performing arts. There are shows, live music and plenty of book-related activities that form over 60 events – including singing and instrument workshops, face painting, and The Wondercrump World of Roald Dahl or watching Dahl’s last epic story The Minpins with live orchestral accompaniment. There are several free activities, too – younger kids can enjoy Rug Rhymes at the snug corner of the festival site as well as enjoying jazz and contemporary music with Groove Baby. There’s also a parenting room for quiet time and breastfeeding, as well as small toilets for toddlers on the Spirit Level at the Royal Festival Hall.
