“What are you looking at now?” asks my husband as I can barely tear myself away from the screen. “Oh, Instagram” I reply as I resume my fixated staring and scrolling. And that’s the thing about Instagram, I am quite literally seeing the world and other’s people’s lives through this social networking app. As much as I love writing and words, there’s a slightly voyeuristic element to Instagram that’s rather addictive. And if you’re a travel fan, then all those beautifully enticing images definitely add to the wanderlust lusting.

It’s probably the one social platform I try quite hard at – I really do love capturing our adventures – and if you’re not following me, you can find my Instagram profile here, I often have photos that aren’t featured on the blog.

I follow thousands of different social influencers and  family travel bloggers, but there are a few that I religiously check in with on a daily basis. These women are great advocates of family travel and inspire me all the time. I hope they’ll do the same for you…

Jennifer’s mix of images captures so many different aspects of family travel. Jennifer is a US-born, London-based journalist who celebrates family travel with flair, from camel-riding to cocktails.

Wandermust Family

Leona, her husband and daughter love adventure and luxury travel. Her IG grid is full of fantastic family travel inspiration from hiking the Great Wall of China to experiencing luxury in the Middle East with everything in between from their recent Round the World Trip!

It’s hard to believe that the sea really is this colour on the Greek Island of Koufonisia but I can promise you that this is #nofilter. It’s the first thing you notice when you step off the ferry at this, the tiny harbour. The next thing you notice is the lack of traffic. There’s only one taxi on the entire island. There’s no need for cars here. There are lots of walking trails along the coast so that you can discover some of the incredible beaches here on foot or bicycle. In two days we’ve walked around most of the island. It’s one of the most beautiful islands we’ve ever visited and, as some of you know, we’ve seen our fair share of gorgeous Greek islands. But best of all, Koufonissia, which is part of the little known Small Cyclades, feels like a secret – even in August. @visitgreecegr @discover.greece @discover.greece @cyclades_islands @beautifulcyclades @visit_cyclades #ttot

Back in Hong Kong after what must be 10 years; this time with kids and hubby in tow. I couldn’t wait to take them on the iconic Star Ferry. I think it features in every movie I’ve seen that has Hong Kong has a backdrop. For the grand price of the equivalent of £1.20 for all of us- a complete bargain and great way to see the skyline. A must do when here. It is pretty hot over here in August but the UK has been surprisingly hotter! The last day of the month means it's time for my most favourite post to put together: a collection of all of the 'moments in between' from the last thirty days. Every month without fail I end up with more images that I love, including this snap (because sometimes a phone selfie is ok too!) of me and my girls on an adventure a couple of weeks ago ❤ The link is in my profile if you fancy a peek. It also seems like a good opportunity to let you all know that I've taken the plunge and set up a separate account for my family photography: @momentsinbetweenphotography. It feels a little* (*a lot!) scary and there are no images on there yet but I'll be starting to add some slowly over the next few weeks. I'd be honoured if you'd be kind enough to follow me over there too ☺ I have a limited number of Autumn adventure sessions available so if you want some photographs that capture you and your family connecting, playing and loving each other honestly & fiercely, send me a message on here and let's set a date. . . . . . #meandmygirls #raisinggirls #iwastheretoo

Sand gets everywhere… but even if I'm shaking it out of bags, shoes and who knows where for months, it still beats a pebble beach. We had a lovely time chilling out on the shingle in Worthing yesterday but sandcastles were on the agenda today so we drove 20 minutes or so to Littlehampton. More of a traditional seaside town than other sandy west Sussex spots like West Wittering, it was also quiet enough today that we could find a patch of sand to build a fortress (see my stories!) and dance in the surf. Home to the UK's longest bench (half artwork/half practical), the town's beaches are split by a river. We stayed in the east side where a little train trundles up and down the front, and there are hot doughnuts between the souvenir shops and ice cream stands. I was very tempted by the East Beach Cafe too after the tide chased us up the beach by late afternoon but there were fish and chips with our name on back in Worthing. And not a cloud in the sky all weekend. That's worth a happy dance!

Dais Like These

Daisy has three kids and her IG grid is full of pictures of them enjoying anything from a local day out to a trip of a lifetime, and everything else in between! Throw in a pretty destination shot or two, and you have a whole host of family travel inspiration.

Travelynn Family

Jenny and her family aim to push the boundaries of family travel and dispel the myth that adventure needs to wait until the kids are older (her boys are aged 3 and 4). On her grid find inspiration from their epic African road trip, adventures through Asia (particularly India), with a bit of Peak District (their new home) for good measure.

A modern mother

Susanna ‘s Instagram is full of travel inspiration for families with teens. From California to Cornwall and everywhere in between.

Sorry About The Mess

Pigeon Pair and Me

Nell has an eye for the scenic and beautiful. She prefers landscapes to family snaps, but you might just catch the occasional picture of her eight- and six-year-old sneaking into her feed.

Relaxing after our journey here to Jutland, west Denmark. The living room of our 2-bed self-catering cottage is on the 1st floor – good old Scandinavian design! We’re staying near the sea, #hosted by Landal GreenParks at their Seawest resort. It’s about an hour’s drive from Legoland, and we’re so excited to be heading there one day this week. Not today, though! It was a long day yesterday, with a 4am start, so today we’ll be mostly exploring the resort’s water pool complex and play areas. Perhaps a run to the sand dunes, or a trip to the gym, for me. And: relax. .
