Coming up with new and inventive ideas for your family holiday every year can be hard – Dad wants one thing, Mum wants another, and the kids just want some free wi-fi to play their games and watch their videos. So what do you do if you all have different family holiday ideas? Well, for one thing, perhaps you need to choose a destination that is new to you all and can offer every member something exciting. After all, sharing the experience is a great way to bond.

Four Different Family Holiday Ideas

If you are struggling and want to spend some quality time all together this holiday season, here are just a few ideas to inspire and to hopefully enable you all to have a brand new of family adventure.

Explore Costa Rica

Ever fancied travelling to Costa Rica? Whilst many people may not view Costa Rica as a stereotypical ‘family holiday’ destination, what better way to experience this country, rich in forests, mangroves, beaches and volcanoes, than with your family! As there is so much to be explored, planning your trip there may at first appear a little over facing and, whilst there are plenty of tour companies that can help you organise your dream trip, it is a good idea to have a few places in mind that you know you want to visit before getting there. A few of the places that are definitely worth visiting include:

The Arenal Volcano National Park

This national park is home to two volcanoes; the 5,357-foot Arenal Volcano and the 3,740-foot Chato Volcano. If you feel up to it, you can also go hiking around the park. While hiking, expect to see an array of wildlife and some stunning views of the volcano.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is rich with lush vegetation; fill your time here walking on the various rainforest trails as the monkeys play in the treetops around you, or, go snorkelling and diving off the white sandy beaches.

Manzillo is found on the east coast of the country and boasts picture-perfect beaches, beach hut bars and a certain undeveloped charm. If you somehow tire of sunning yourself on the beach, run off into the sea for the ultimate snorkelling experience as you feast your eyes on the beautiful coral reefs.

Go Dune-Buggy Riding in Dubai

Dubai is home to a magnitude of incredible beachfront hotels and resorts that make the perfect family holiday destination. If you fancy doing something a little different, one idea is heading out into the desert to go dune-buggy riding. Depending on how daring you are feeling, you can either book onto buggy tours that involve being driven or, if you have a need for speed, you can embark on a self-drive dune buggy adventure yourself.

Relax on the Beaches of Goa

Goa is located on the west coast of India. Not only does this Indian state have a rich cultural heritage, but it is also a haven for beach lovers. As you travel down the coastline from the north to the south, expect to be greeted by pristine stretches of sand, beach hut hotels, yoga retreats, a calm ocean and constant stunning scenery.

Go Camping in Cornwall

If you are a family of keen campers or have never tried it before, a great location for season regulars of first-timers is Cornwall; one of the best places to go camping in the world. There are plenty of campsites in Cornwall of varying styles and standards so you can sure that you will be able to find something that will suit your needs and your taste. What makes these campsites even better are their proximity to the beach. Cornwall is famous for its surfing, so be sure to pack your flip flops and a beach ball.
