Florida is home to the biggest theme parks in the world and sees over 111 million visitors descend onto the sunshine state each year. And why not – there is so much to offer tourists from sun-soaked white sandy beaches, epic wildlife, native American reservations, a space centre, cool hotspots and of course, Disney World and Universal.

And while there are so many accommodation choices in Florida – where do you even begin? When planning a holiday, it goes without saying that there is a lot of research and organisation involved. And one of the most important parts of ensuring you have a successful trip is that your accommodation choice is spot on – from location and budget to amenities and space, there are many options to consider. After all, if the place you decide to base yourself in is not up to expectations then it will have a negative impact on your overall holiday experience.

While hotels are plentiful, there are some fantastic villas in Florida which really do tick all the boxes – especially if you are planning on visiting with a large group – be it with friends or family. But what to look out for so that every member of your party is has a good time.

The price

Budget will be the most important factor – and finding a villa that has the right price. The reason why villas are popular for big groups is that they are essentially much cheaper than hotels. This is because while hotels go up in price per person staying, villas go down in price because the cost per head decreases. This is great because it means you’re going to have case spare for all of the fun activities in Florida, for example, renting a boat in Miami. When considering price, it is important that you set a budget before you actually begin to look for a villa.

Reputable company

Make sure you choose a Florida company that is reputable and has good reviews. There are many feedback websites that you can check before parting with your money – and if you’re still not sure, make sure you book with a credit card so that you are covered should anything untoward occur.

Location is key. Do you want your base to be somewhere close to the attractions so they are within easy reach. Or perhaps you want to be in a more peaceful setting that will offer a respite from the crowds. Check out the location maps and work out travel times to all the attractions, or nearby destinations you want to visit.

If you have a large group, no doubt everyone will want different things – swimming pool, ensuite bathrooms, BBQ – will there be WI-FI, free parking and cooking facilities. It is advisable that you sit down and make a list of necessities before you begin to search for a Florida villa.

And finally, you also need to think about the availability of the villa. Bookmark your favourite Florida villa choices and then check if they are available for your chosen dates. This will help narrow down your options and give you the best chances of securing your favourite Florida villa.
